Verify Google Authorship To Display Profile Pic On Search Results

In this tutorial that shows How to add or display Google plus profile photo/pic in Google search results using Google Authorship for Blogger blog and website. You might have noticed Google search results includes information about the author.It has a link to the Author’s Google Plus Profile and it also displays the Author’s Profile Picture.Simple way to attract more visitors from your Blog using Google Authorship.Google's authorship tag is a great tool for authority of you as an author. It finds articles written by you both in your blog and other blogs.Have you wondered whether your profile pictures appear on the search results? If not, lets try them today to make it appear easily on the Google's search result by tweaking specific things on your Blogger Blog. Google is gradually displaying the pictures of the authors or publishers on the Google search results. For Blogspot domains, lets see how to achieve that target if you still don't have your profile picture on search results.

Purpose of the tutorial:

1)Display Google Plus profile pic on google search results below your article title and embedded within the search contents.like this below

2)Create an About me page, if you have not created one.See my About Page.

3)Link Google Plus profile on your "Blogger Home" page and "About me" page.

Required Before We Begin:

1)Blogger blog or any other platform you own.

2)Your Google+ Profile URL. Create a Google Plus account if still don't have one.

3) Your "About me" page on your website or Blogger Blog. Create an "About me" page if you don't have first.

4) A square profile photo on your Google Plus account uploaded. If your profile picture is not square then please do the needful on your Google Plus profile so that it becomes easy for Google to create a square thumbnail on the search results.

If you have the above materials in hand, we can proceed with the steps.

Steps To Display Google+ Profile Photo In Search Results

STEP 1: Add the following on your Blogger Sidebar/Footer/Header:

<a href="https://plus.google.com/GooglePlusID" rel="author" target="_blank"> Add me On Google Plus</a>

Note: Replace GooglePlusID with your Google+ ID.
Eg: My G+ ID is shown below image:

Log in to Google Plus account, Click on "Profile" to see your Profile ID or Google+ ID.

Note:From the above quote you can see "Add me On Google Plus" can be replaced with any other text as you wish.

Note: Don't remove rel="author" from the code.

I added it on My Blog Footer as shown in below image:

STEP 2: Visit your "About me" page and add the following code anywhere within the page you wish:

<a href="https://plus.google.com/GooglePlusID" rel="me" target="_blank"> Hammad Baig On G+</a>

Note: Replace GooglePlusID with your Google Plus ID.

Note: Don't remove the rel="me" from the code.

Note: Edit the text Hammad Baig On G+ with name oranything you wish.

STEP 3) Go to your Google Plus account and click on "Profile" and then click "Edit Profile" as shown below image:

STEP 4: Scroll down the page and add the "Contributor to" and "Links" with your website or blog URL as well as your "About me" page URL as shown below image:

STEP 5: Upload a nice Profile Pic of yourself on to the Google Plus account.
Try adding a square image of yourself.

STEP 6: Go to http://profiles.google.com/me/plusones
and click "Edit Profile" > Check the "Show this tab on your profile" as shown below:

Finally Click on Saved button
Now,According to above,everything is almost alright and set to go.

Let's Test Your Setting, Is Everything OK?

After setting as described above simply Go to Rich Snippets Tool and type your blog homepage address in preview box and click preview. If you will see the text saying "Verified: Authorship markup is verified for this page" then everything is okay. If your About Me page is not indexed by Google yet, click here and submit your about me page address to Google blog.

Now wait at least 2 to 3 days and then you can see your profile picture in Google search results with your content.
